Recessionista?

You know, I totally thought I came up with that word. Then my pride was destroyed after doing a Google search and seeing that it was coined long ago. Actually, it was during the search that my heart was broken, as the auto-complete smugly finished my search for me, indicating that not only did the word exist, but peopel were actually actively searching for it. Sigh.

Anyway, the point is stuff is getting expensive. Actually, I think I'm just getting poorer. Maybe both. Whatever the case may be, I have been attempting to cut back. It's what my parents have always told me to do, and more recently, what President Obama is telling me to do.

One of my biggest expenditures is clothing - obviously. Isn't yours? If it's not, we probably wouldn't get along. More specifically, I tend to bleed money in return for fine denim. I know it's not a very unique vice, but it is what it is (I hate when other people say that). Fortunately, with the advent of internet, I am able to score discount true religion and miss me jeans. If you know anything about me, you know that those are my two favorite brands. Okay, to be fair, my favorite brands change with the weather, but at the time of this posting, those are the ones!

If you are new to bargain hunting online, let me impart my valuable wisdom that I have earned from experience. Yes, there are great deals. No, there are not impossible deals. What I'm saying is, saving $70 on a $300 pair of jeans is plausible. Saving $230 on a $300 pair of jeans is not. If you find a deal like that, you are now aware that you are buying fakes. If you don't mind wearing a pair of knock-off jeans, well, good for you...but I won't be seen in public with you!
